Strawberry Cornflake Flan

Strawberry Cornflake Flan
Ingredients:
  • For Base:
  • Cornflakes crushed 2 cup
  • Butter 3 tbsp
  • Sugar 2 tbsp heaped
  • Honey 2 tbsp
  • For Filling:
  • Egg 1 separated
  • Cream whipped 1 cup
  • Strawberries puree 1/2 cup
  • Milk 1, 1/2 cup
  • Flour 1 tbsp
  • Gelatin 2 tsp heaped
  • Sugar 6 tbsp
Method:
  • For Base: 
  1. Melt butter and add in sugar and honey, remove from heat.
  2. Mix in crushed cornflakes.
  3. Grease an 8 inches pie dish and line it with corn flake mixture, pressing well on all sides.
  • For Filling: 
  1. Mix milk with flour, sugar and 1 egg yolk, mix well.
  2. Cook mixture on very low flame, stirring continuously till thick.
  3. Remove and cool.
  4. Add in it strawberry puree.
  5. Dissolve gelatin mixture in some water.
  6. Beat 1 egg white till stiff with 1 ounce extra sugar.
  7. Also beat fresh cream till stiff.
  8. Fold beaten egg white and whipped cream in the cooled custard, mix well.
  9. Pour over the base of cornflakes and chill till firm.
  10. Garnish with fresh cream and strawberry slices.
