Abzhorka (Russian Cuisine)

 Introduction:
  • Even though, the salad does not have gourmet ingredients and is really easy to make, it is very tasty and it is just impossible to stop eating it. That is why it is called Abzhorka or Food Lover. Suggestion: American mayonnaise is usually creamier and sweeter then Russian mayonnaise. I usually add 2 table spoons of vinegar, 2 table spoons of olive oil, and 2 table spoons of water for every 12 oz of mayonnaise. Make sure you mix it well.

Ingredients:
  • 3 Carrots,
  • 3 large Pickles,
  • 1 lb Beef Sirloin,
  • 2 large Onions,
  • Mayonnaise (about 12 oz bottle).
Method:
  1. Boil the carrots and the sirloin.
  2. Cut the onions into rings and then make long stripes out of the rings; roast the onion stripes slitely till they soften.
  3. Cut the boiled carrots and pickles into thin stripes.
  4. Tear the boiled sirloin apart making thin stripes, as well.
  5. Mix everything, add mayonnaise, and salt the salad a bit.
